Hey everyone!! We are so excited about today’s post, with it being December now (…aka our most favourtie time of year), Christmas is literally right around the corner and we couldn’t be happier! We recently visited a very popular Christmas Market held at Toronto’s Distillery District, to help us get in the spirit (and take a break from all our school related responsibilities lol). Well needless to say, it most definitely got us in the spirit – you literally feel as if you’re walking through a made for TV Christmas movie lol. We wanted to share our experience and festive photos with you guys! With school being so hectic especially around the holidays it makes is extremely difficult for us to do fun and festive things with exams, reports, and due dates hovering over us, so we normally miss out on all the fun things to do around this time of year. This year as soon as we had a free day we had to head over to market!
Whether you live in close proximity to Toronto or not we 100% recommend making the trip to visit the Christmas Market, it will definitely live up to all the hype and any expectations you might have. This is probably one of the most instagramed locations of the season! They haven’t spared any expenses in the decorating aspect; every corner has something cute and festive to look at. Not only is it pretty to look at there is so much to do, eat, and see! Every day of the week there are performers at the market, they are so fun to watch and really get you in the Christmas spirit with everything from carolers to dancers!
There is something to do for literally everyone and age! Unfortunately, we’re too old to go on the rides they have or go through the life-sized ginger bread house – but they are so cute! There are countless unique shops and food vendors, both at the Distillery District year-round, and special ones set up specifically for the market. They all look like mini gingerbread houses – we’re literally obsessed with them! When it comes to food – its so hard to contain ourselves, especially when you love everything (actual food, sweets, and salty lol). We had the most amazing authentic poutine – it was literally to die for – our mouths are watering thinking about it right now lol! We couldn’t leave without some type of dessert, once again it was so hard to choose what to get because there were so many yummy options. We both are obsessed with doughnuts, especially the mini cinnamon doughnuts you can only get at the fair, and we were so excited to see there was a vendor making fresh mini cinnamon doughnuts – so that’s what we decided to have! Once again it did not disappoint – if we could, we would go back everyday just for the food lol! With all the incredible things to do there, we can’t forget to mention Santa himself is there to take photos with – the line was too long otherwise we would’ve gotten at photo with him!
Overall, this should be on everyone’s holiday to do list! It’s truly so magical and will definitely get you in the spirit! Especially with it now only being weeks away from Christmas we highly suggest you try and visit during the week, as it’ll be less busy and you’ll be able to fully appreciate everything they have to offer (as well as taking nice instagram photos without anyone in the background lol). During the week it is a free admission which is amazing, however to keep number of visitors to a capped number to avoid crowds, after 5pm on Fridays-Sundays they charge an admission fee of $6. We hope you all enjoyed this post and make it out to the Christmas Market this holiday season!
